Progress on Boiler Smoke Box & Side Rods

show an example of the work that will be done to all of the side rods.
The main rod (L1 shown here) attaches with a knuckle pin to the cross head. The knuckle pin attaches to the side rod with a taper fit. Here, a CNC mill is re establishing the taper for the knuckle pin. New knuckle pins will then be machined to fit the new hole diameter on the correct taper. |

This is the
other end of the L1 side rod. The bore is being machined for rod brass
where it attaches to the crankpin on the main driver.
